L∞ + ΔL × φ⁻ⁿ
The system computes the Lightness value for each step n by first determining the
total distance (ΔL) between the Base Lightness (L₀) and the Target (L∞).
Then, for iteratively successive steps, it scales down that progression utilizing the Inverse Golden Ratio raised to the power of the step (φ⁻ⁿ).
This approach ensures that gradients follow a visually harmonious logarithmic mapping rather than a generic linear decay, seamlessly converging down to the target lightness.
